PRP Therapy

How Does it Work?

PRP uses a patient’s own blood, drawn through an IV and ran through a centrifuge (or other specialized device) to concentrate the growth factors. This happens by separating platelets from other components found in blood. That concentration of platelets are then injected into the damaged tissue(s) for an increased healing response.

Most commonly we use PRP Therapy to re-stimulate a chronic condition back into the healing process, but it can also be used after athletic injuries, or surgery, to decrease inflammation and speed up the healing process. Here are a few of the conditions we can treat using PRP Therapy:

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Achilles Tendinitis
  • Lateral Ankle Instability
  • Posterior Tibial Tendinitis
  • Peroneal Tendinitis
  • Cartilage Injuries (OCD)
